This article examines the historical and philosophical evolution of the concept of “enlightenment” within medieval philosophical thought. The study analyzes the ideas of enlightenment and enlightener thought in social, religious, philosophical, and ethical contexts, highlighting their gradual historical development. In the first stage, “enlightenment” is interpreted within a theological and spiritual framework, emphasizing the human heart and spiritual perfection. In the second stage, the concept is considered as a form of intellectual, scientific, and philosophical development.
