In this article, the authors examine the subject of cultural anthropology and its place in the system of social sciences and humanities. Cultural anthropology as a science was formed relatively recently and it is based on research in the field of holistic anthropology, which was formed during the 18-19 centuries. Having become an independent field, cultural anthropology explores the phenomenon of culture by giving it its own, complex definition. By this definition, it stands out not only among other social sciences and humanities, but also other areas of anthropological research.
