This article is devoted to a diachronic analysis of lexical units related to the field of international law in English and Uzbek languages. The research is aimed at studying the historical development, linguistic features and processes of interlingual interaction of international legal terms. The etymological origin, semantic changes and standardization processes of legal terms are analyzed. The article also studies the evolution of international legal lexicon based on historical-comparative, semantic and cognitive approaches, and analyzes the problems associated with translation and equivalence. The results of the research contribute to ensuring the consistency of international legal terminology and the development of interlingual legal dialogue.
