This article analyzes the state of development of tour operators in world tourism. Research findings include growth in the number of tour operators, the use of new technologies and innovations, a focus on environmental sustainability, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. European and North American tour operators are the leaders of the international market, and the Asia Pacific region is developing rapidly. In order to increase the efficiency of the tour operator industry, it was emphasized that it is necessary to introduce new technologies, ensure environmental stability and state support. The importance of regional development and communication with customers was noted in the discussion.
