This article examines the history of the Christian religion, the socio-political and economic-cultural situation of the period of its emergence, an analysis of the reasons that led to the emergence of the Christian religion and the influence of the mode of production, which was formed under the influence of the climatic conditions of Western Europe. The history of religions is considered from the position of the geographical school in sociology. In addition, the article contains a philosophical opinion on the reasons for the spread of the Christian religion from the territory of Israel to all Western European regions, the emergence of the Catholic Church and the establishment of dominance over secular power, as well as the weakening of religious power and the end of the dominance of the Catholic Church in the following stages of the historical development of Western society.
