This work analyzes the activities of the markets and caravanserais of the Samarkand region in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, their role in economic and cultural life. As a trade center of Central Asia, the markets of Samarkand played an important role in strengthening ties between local producers and international merchants. The caravanserais formed along the Great Silk Road served as strategic locations for merchants and caravans.
In addition, the research study examines the changes that occurred in the trade infrastructure during the Russian Empire, including the construction of the railway, new trade opportunities, and the strengthening of economic ties with Russia. The structure of caravanserais, their role in the development of logistics and cultural ties are examined in detail. The markets and caravanserais of Samarkand were important not only as economic, but also as cultural and communication centers.
