This topic is devoted to the analysis of the specific features of French journalistic texts. The study includes such genres as informative texts, reports, editorial articles, opinion articles, and studies their language, stylistic means, structural structure, and discourse functions. The most important features of French journalistic texts are: short, clear reporting through the headline and chapô; the structure of texts, which is usually built with a clear wisdom (information - quotes - source) and the strength of reliance on the source; the determination of the point of view, angle; the harmony of the formal and customary writing style in the field of language and style, the use of concise and active language; ensuring the reliability of facts through quotes and sources; the occurrence of new words, anglicisms, and traditional French concepts in the lexicon; differences between genres: news, report, editorial, opinion; texts reflect the socio-economic environment, connect with moral-theoretical contexts. The results of the study identify the specific aesthetic and discursive features of French journalistic texts and help develop analytical skills in the fields of translation and stylistics.
